I was asked recently why the description of the Category Code in Business Unit didn't match the actual Visual Assist. When they look at their Business Unit Master, the column heading says "Cat Code 001", but when they take the Visual Assist, the UDC table shows "Division". They've verified the Data Dictionary shows "Cat Code 001" as well. (The disconnect is all over their system, but, to be fair, this is true for almost every client I’ve worked with over the last 25 years.)
That UDC label is maintained somewhere else - inside the UDC Visual Assist that is inside the main UDC application. It's buried for a reason because it holds the foundational UDC configuration. But if your users are seeing different words (which can be frustrating), here is how you get to the UDC configuration screen.
Either Fast Path to "UDC" or open the UDC application where you can inquire / edit any UDC table. Enter the Product Code, then take the Visual Assist on the User Defined Codes field. A search screen will appear which has actions in it - rare for a search screen. Click Add:
The next screen is this Product Code's full list of UDC tables. For this issue for Cat Code 001 on the Business Unit, that code is "01", and you can see the description here is "Division".
The user changed that to "Cat Code 001" to match the Data Dictionary descriptions, and now the UDC search looks like this:
