This feature has been around since 9.1, but we don't see many JDE customers using it. We definitely see users making mistakes in Data Selection that could have easily been avoided with some well-placed locks!
You can lock down lines in Data Selection so users don't touch the line. Simply highlight the row you wish to lock in Data Selection and click the "Advanced" hyperlink. Click the "Locked" box, and click "OK".
In order to truly lock, you'll also need to secure the Lock feature in security so a user doesn't "unlock". Per the MOS Doc ID 2526107.1, "It is not possible to disable the Advanced link, but it can be hidden by using Data Selection security in P00950 by setting 'Full Access Data Selection' to N for the required object (Report Version)." Just like that, you have saved yourself countless human error-related headaches.
